Lake Travis Vacation Rentals
In Lago Vista the deer are abundant and you can often see them on the island. Some of them will eat right out of your hand. As seen in the picture in front of the island's gate house. Click the pictures to enlarge.
There are quite a few parks in the area to throw a frisbee or relax and and have a picnic. Some of them are right on the water.
This is pool #1 where you can bask in the sun and look out over the blue water of Lake Travis.

The barbeque and fire pit area where you can enjoy some good Texas steaks and burgers.
The tennis courts and shuffle board courts. Don't hit the ball to hard or you'll be going fishing... which is another pass time at the island.
The Gate House to the Island is just the beginning to your vacation or weekend getaway.
This was taken on a 70 degree day in January from the hills just above the island. The island is the only condo complex completely surrounded by water.
Austin's Congress ave. bridge is home to over 1 million bats that that live there between late March thru October. It's best to get there right before dusk as they make their exit from under the bridge. They eat between 4-6 tons of insects per night.
Check out the capitol building and it's informative plaques. Austin is also the live music capitol of the world. Just walk down 6th street and you'll see why.
Stop by the Flat Creak Estate winery and enjoy a glass of wine as you take in breathtaking views of the vineyard grounds. It's only about 25 minutes away from the island.
